About us

The RunningGearLab team is focused on saving you time and making your decisions easier. Just think, every hour you save on research means another whole hour thinking about going for a run, or maybe even an hour running! – you’ll have all the time you need to decide.

Our team of expert runners, coaches, and editors go deep into product research and reviews to make sure we’re choosing the products that we would use ourselves.

Writers, Editors and Running Experts

Justin Running

Justin James

I’m a runner, a dad, a writer, just trying to help runners make better decisions. My running career started back in 2013 getting into olympic triathlons, increasing to full distance Ironmans in 2017.

Through the process of run training as a hobby and trying to train the least possible to avoid injury and still compete at the Ironman distance, I’ve put years of research and testing into simple running routines and techniques. As a writer, working with coaches and experts we take their experience and provide articles to help runners at every level.

James young jr.

Coach James Young Jr.

Expert contributor and online running coach – A certified United States Track & Field developmental coach. I believe that we can all achieve so much more than we know that we can, as long as we are willing to work for it. Moreover, I believe in everyone that is willing to take on the challenge of running. It isn’t an easy sport, and it is not for everyone. Yet for those who know that skinned knees heal, cramps fade and mud washes away, there is no more rewarding sport.

James is certified with United States of America Track and Field Level 1.
